City of Digital Lights
i-City is a 72 acres ICT-based urban development beside the Federal Highway in Section 7, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Master planned by world-renowned and award-winning architect Jon A Jerde, i-City was designed as a fully integrated intelligent city, comprising corporate, leisure and residential components such as a 1.0 million sq. ft. regional shopping mall, office towers, Cybercentre office suites, hotels, apartments, data centres and innovation centre.

i-City is a MSC Malaysia Cybercentre where knowledge-based companies with MSC Malaysia status can enjoy the various incentives offered under the MSC Malaysia Bills of Guarantee. It has also been endorsed as a Tourism Destination by the Ministry of Tourism and declared as an International Park by the Selangor State Government where entertainment and other cosmopolitan lifestyle outlets are permitted to operate on a 24 X 7 basis.

With 13 million sq ft of approved built-up and a Gross Development Value of RM 3 billion, this gated and guarded development is today recognized as a catalyst in the transformation of Shah Alam into an International City. Although todate only 20% of the land area has been developed, i-City is already an established MSC Malaysia Cybercentre as well as leisure hub in Shah Alam attracting 90,000 visitors a week to experience its LED lightscape, Snowalk as well as the various themed attractions.

As night falls, i-City’s mesmerising nightscape with over 1 million LED lights will lit the sky daily in a thematic manner. The place comes alive with an amazing forest of man-made maple and pine trees brightly illuminated with seasonal LED lightscape themes.

Red Carpet
Meet the world of Stars at i-City’s latest attraction - Red Carpet, Malaysia’s first all-stars i nteractive wax museum that dazzles in a 30,000 sq ft Oscar-like awards setting. Visitors will be star-struck as they enter into the world of stars and be awe-struck by their coming to life with the synchronisation of voice and motion, thanks to the latest technology in wax exhibits display.

The revolutionary wax exhibits – a Visit Malaysia (VMY) 2014 tourism product catering to both the international and local visitors – is a journey of up close for an unforgettable personal experience with lifelikeness personalities and real-life themes that will engage and educate visitors in a fun way. What a great family outing this promises – a day with the Stars and be Star.

The wax exhibits will be in six themes, namely World Icons, Celebrities, Sport Stars, World Book of Records, Interactive and All Stars Café.

Trick Art museum
The key attraction here is the Trick Art Museum, which has earned the reputation of being the only showcase of its kind in Malaysia where exhibits come to live in 3D when seen through camera lenses. Trick art renders two dimensional paintings in three dimensions by creating illusion. Each exhibit looks different when seen from different angles. Its magic magnifies when seen at a perfect angle from camera lenses. The 8,000 sq ft Trick Art Museum boasts 5 themes, namely Masterpieces, Egyptian, Sea Life, Animal Kingdom and Modern Classic.

Snow walk
A below 5 degrees Celcius Artic environment with ice sculptures and rides – the biggest in Malaysia. Inside Snowalk you will find igloos, ice houses, slides, a mini-bobsled run, snowmen, ice penguins, a bar made of ice (no beverage served), various ice sculptures and plenty more LED lights.

Water World
Sitting on a 10-acre land, WaterWorld caters to families and friends of all ages and heights. The main feature of this water park is the exhilarating Tornado Ride, the first of its kind in South East Asia. It offers visitors the ultimate aquatic adrenalin rush. This ride takes visitors on an oscillating ‘near-zero-gravity-twirl’ for a full 28-second through a 160-foot water tunnel, plummeting into a water funnel that is 7-storey high, inclined at a 45 degree angle and eventually emerges at the end of the funnel in calm, serene waters. Apart from the Tornado Ride, other exciting and fun-filled water rides include the Giant Jacuzzi, exciting spiral and rainbow slides, Children’s Adventure Pool, River Adventure through LED-lit rockery caves and a Wave Pool with a giant LED screen.

Additionally, the WaterWorld vicinity is also an ideal venue for concerts and special events. Doubtlessly, WaterWorld at i-City offers a recreational haven that is Wet, Cool and Fun for the entire family.

Strawberry Farm in Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands was named after William Cameron, a British government surveyor who stumbled across a plateau in 1885 during a mapping expedition on the Titiwangsa Range. Failing to mark his discovery on the map, the location of the plateau was a finally confirmed by subsequent expeditions after which Sir Hugh Low suggested that this would be an ideal location for a retreat and farmland. A narrow path to the highlands was then cut through the dense jungles of the highlands.

Nothing much happened after that until 1925 when Sir George Maxwell visited the highlands and decided to develop it as a hill station. A development committee was then formed which functioned until 1931. Cameron Highlands was a haven for the British who were station in Malaya as it provided relief from the hot and humid tropical climate of the lowlands.Once the road was constructed, wealthy residents and British government officials started building retreats on the slopes of the highlands. Later some settled here permanently and a business community developed. Farming was the main activity here at that time. In 1929, John Archibald Russell, who was the son of a British administrative officer started a tea plantation which is now the famous Boh Tea Plantation.

The highlands developed successfully until the outbreak of World War II where the Japanese invasion in 1941 forced the British troops and civilians out of the highlands. The Japanese continued to administer the area since they saw the highlands farms as a vital food source for their troops. When the Japanese troops retreated from Malaya in 1945, the British gradually returned to the highlands until the independence of Malaya from the British in 1957.
